 Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation:

As a pioneer organization, APON provide community-based treatment and rehabilitation. APON’s service is open for all social-economic-religious groups, regardless of age or gender. APON believes in rehabilitation of the whole person – the physical, emotional, spiritual, mental and social aspects, so there is no need for a “substitution” drug or a drug using “exchange program”. We help them to exchange a “drug using life” for a “drug free life”. It is true that some have to struggle and have to start all over after a “slip” but many succeeded on one attempt. It is our observation that all were not successful in the same way but all did experience life without drugs for at least six and half-months

APON provide services for male, female and children at its own campus including Half-way House and ODIC.

APON is not only focused on the recovery from the addiction but also on physical fitness, and spiritual and psychological well-being. We identify the root cause of addiction and develop a process to learn all the adaptive coping skills. We have the expertise to create sustainable recovery through an integrated system.

At Amar Home, we design a multidisciplinary therapeutic approach for our clients from scratch during our recovery process. A wide range of treatment options is available in our drug addiction treatment and rehab center.

APON has developed its own treatment procedure and daily schedule by combining NA/TC (Narcotics Anonymous / Therapeutic Community) first time in Bangladesh since 1994. We call them Residents (instead of patients) and a member of APON family. All Residents take care of every resident, help each other to mend their attitude, compulsive behavioral disorder, etc. for transforming themselves as good human person. APON operate awareness program about the dark side of drug addiction and drug addiction treatments, rehabilitation, drug related diseases, etc.

Staff members of APON keep themselves busy to keep the residents busy from 6:00 am to 10:00 p.m. Staff members together with responsible residents awaken other residents from the bed, guide/help them to carry on the activities, i.e. obedience in household works, craft works, sit for morning prayer, pre-morning meeting, morning meeting, attend classes, etc. as per set daily schedule.

Detoxification is done by a professional’s prescription. After detoxification period, clients join in our main rehabilitation program. At the same time clients have to go through other medical tests for determining other diseases or medical problems, if any.

 After Care Program

Most of the people think that after staying in a rehabilitation center for a certain period of time, treatment is over and the person is cured. This doesn’t always prove to be true. The treatment of Drug Addiction or Mental Illness is a lifetime process where the client must follow certain rules & ethics and their family members have a very important role to play in this process. For that reason, we have developed a total guideline for a client and his/her family.
